Feelings of the intarsia authorMy free abstract compositions generate basically by two different ways. I draw inspiration from either the shapes of grain in veneer or by its coloration. The idea comes up accidentally. Otherwhile I make up the picture in my mind first and then I look for the veneers that may accomplish and fulfill my conception. Although people often find intarsia abstraction, I don’t. Generally there is an idea behind the inlaid work. I try to develop this idea up to action description in parable of the story. I often deal with feelings of the instant moment that influence my state of mind. To express my feelings I foremost use colours and coloration of exotic wood species and precious ones. In addition I use czech wood species struck by various defects ( nobs, swirl, cracks, abnormal coloration, etc.) I am far more deeply inspired by such wood than by perfect, monotonous, drab one . Through imperfection I look for perfection in imperfection. While creating I get a strong feeling of freedom and relief. I anxiously try to give the same freedom to the wood. I try to respect what the nature has already created. I tend to bring out the beautiful details. I intend to grip the audience but not at all costs. Balance of the whole composition and colours is important to me. I mainly play on the romantic sensation. Rougher contrasts serve in particular intensification and amplification of the idea with a view to capture, catch, grip even to pull inside the inlay and make us think about it. Try to get on the same wave. |
